Blue magic
Seeps over the horizon
A hush of cobalt velvet ink
draped across the rooftops.
Clouds drift slow and deliberate,
Lamp-lit windows blink awake,
Each a tiny lantern in the indigo hush.
And the air tastes cool like river stones.
Shadows stretch blue silk fingers
Reluctant to surrender
The day’s last golden relics.
Somewhere, a breeze stirs.
Dusk the gentle conjurer,
Turns the world to her quiet spell
Even the trees hold their breath,
As the first star
Shy and electric,
Winks from the pocket
Of the waking night.
