Within the tender,
unscripted play,
Where glory, grief
and awe hold sway,
The caregiver and
the cherished one,
Dance through the day,
till setting sun.
The glory comes in moments,
hushed and deep,
A flicker in the eyes
where memories sleep.
A hand that finds yours,
words set free,
moments of the person
that they used to be.
Sadness arrives on
Soft unwanted feet,
In quiet failures,
and promises incomplete.
A tear that falls
in shadow unseen,
For all the things
we can no longer convene.
The awe of sunrise,
sudden and bright,
In the boundless spirit
that defies the fading light.
The fragile soul
is Yet aglow,
With quiet strengths
that only grace can know.
Acceptance descends
like evening’s calm embrace,
Glowing with peace
upon the well loved face.
